Frequently Asked Questions
What health insurance do you accept?
I am in-network with many insurance plans including Aetna, Highmark, United Healthcare, Beacon, Optum, and some of the Blue Cross & Blue Shield plans. I can also access state insurance for gambling clients and their family members. When you contact me, we can determine if your particular provider is in-network.
How much will my insurance cover?
Depending on your health insurance provider, services may be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
What specific questions should I ask my insurance provider?
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible?
- If so, what is my deductible, and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per year I can have?
- If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
- How much is the out-of-network reimbursement?
- What is the procedure for out-of-network reimbursement?
What is the procedure if you are out of network?
I can provide a monthly invoice if you would like to file for out-of-network reimbursement with your provider. It is your responsibility to consult with your provider to determine your out-of-network benefits. Your provider will inform you about whether your sessions will be covered, what percentage will be covered, and their procedures for reimbursement.

What types of payment do you accept?
Fees for sessions are due at time of service or payable in advance via cash, credit card, check, Venmo, Zelle, or a Health Savings Account (HSA). For your convenience, I also provide a web payment portal where you can automate payments through your credit card or bank.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
I get it, life happens. If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel at least 24 hours prior to your session. This allows other patients to book that time slot. There is a $50 charge for appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
What if I am running late to a session?
If you are running late, please contact me. If you do not, I will hold the session for 15 minutes, and then attempt to contact you. If I can’t get in touch with you, I will consider the session a “late cancellation”, and it will be subject to a $50 fee.
What if we go over our allotted session time?
There are occasions where you may wish to extend your session time. Schedule permitting, we can add session time in 15 minute increments. My fee is $25 for every 15 minutes added to your standard 50 minute session block.
Are sessions in-person or online?
Both in-person and telehealth sessions are available. We can meet in-person at one of my offices (in Souderton or Perkasie, PA). Or we can meet via my secure HIPAA-compliant web platform. We can also do sessions on the phone.
How often will we meet for sessions?
I recommend weekly sessions to start. This type of consistency gives you the momentum needed to make your progress as effective as possible. That said, some clients prefer to meet more or less. We can discuss your needs in our initial consultation.
